As I grow old, I have come to realize I want to live even longer. In fact I want to live forever, seriously! I do not want to die. If you are of a different opinion, take a knife a stub thyself. Just kidding but I believe in one way or another, we wish not to die.
We live to fulfill our destinies, purposes and callings. But how many have died without fulfilling theirs? Could it be wrong if we gave an opportunity to do so? Look at it, deep within us there is a bit that is very afraid of death. What we do is hide it in faith. Most of us want to go to heaven, they just wish there was another way other than death. Funny huh! But bare in mind that the ideas expressed here whatsoever are personal and not meant to make anyone uncomfortable. If it's against your faith, do not get offended. These are just free thoughts and are not tied to any kind or system of beliefs.
My point here is if you are afraid of death just like me, you shouldn’t worry, maybe there is a way around it. Yeah I said we could play hide and seek with death by becoming pro hiders.
According to me and others in my field, we tend to look at death like a disease, probably because it is one. A disease that affects and kills you from your basic building blocks. The DNA, this is where death begins. I tend to think it begins when the sperms meets the ova. You just can’t measure it. So right now everyone including you my friend, are in a process of dying. Actually, you are dying, slowly, bit by bit, every second, we are just waiting for the process to end. To explain this further, let’s take the example of a car, a car that was once brand new cruising at 160km/h, now it cannot start its engine. Why do you think that’s so? In between the car cruising at 160km/h and not starting the engine is the dying process or rather the aging process.
Growing old is dying. An old person is worn out. Their system is weak, they cannot do much by their own. They even lose sight, earing abilities and even stability. This is the process that started when they were embryos, reaching it's climax. At this point the only solution is death. The painful part, maybe, is that we are all programmed to spend our lives this way, it is a norm.
For years those of my kind and I have been looking into this disease and finally we think we have found the cure or what would be the cure. How you take it is your story. Since we know this ailment starts in the DNA, how about we help the DNA fight it, e help the DNA by enhancing its capabilities, we make it stronger and less prone to this demon. I talking about making changes to the DNA, editing it to superhuman levels and make it stronger that death. I don’t know what you are thinking right now but I know you will go for it if at all it becomes viable while you are viable.
So I will not go into details of this technology today. My big concern is what people out here think about this tech .Everyone has their own thoughts about it, some very skeptical and others very ready to pick up the challenge. Some would not embrace the technology probably because they are ignorant or because they think being born, growing old and dying are the norms of life and changing it is playing God, probably. To me, it requires more than open-mindedness to view life in a different way than this, to get someone to embrace the tech they either have to be naturally a free thinker or you have to make them one. As much as this tech will receive much criticism, I think and feel that in a few decades of its application all of you rich guys will be running up and down looking for it. For the poor dude, I’m sorry guess you’ll have to die as fast unless the government provides it for free which I really doubt. You realize the government hates the poor so you dying is a relief.
Now, let’s talk. What does this kind of tech mean to you? What could you do if you found yourself at 120 years old and still looking as old as teenager? You have a lot of time now. What will you do with it? Earn more riches, convert more people to your ideologies? Create an empire? Explore life and the world? Explore space or board a forever space-craft?? I do not know, maybe you can tell me. For me it means having enough time to do all m works, it means at least enough time to visit Alpha Centauri and back. It means enough time to see the real outcome of artificial intelligence. It just means enough time to feed my fantasies.
We have a lot to accomplish in this world and I do not think 70 years is enough.

not enough at all
